Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because it is close to home, and I wanted to pursue a career and give back to the community that I live in.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? To me being a Roadrunner means always striving to be the best version of yourself so that you can help serve others to the best of your ability.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I plan to pursue my master’s degree in social work, and to eventually become a medical social worker in a children’s hospital.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? Getting into the social work program and making the dean’s list ever since I started attending Dalton State. Also, being a first-generation college student pushes me to work harder to make my parents’ sacrifice worthwhile.
What are some of your favorite activities in and around Dalton? Trying new food spots around Dalton especially downtown, because they have a lot of good local restaurants. I love trying different foods!
Where is your favorite study spot? Starbucks because I order my favorite drink, put on my headphones, and open my books for those long study sessions.
Where is your favorite hangout? Cherokee Brewing and Pizza Company, because it is a good place to unwind after a long day of class
Favorite comfort food? Tacos from the local taco trucks in Dalton
What do you feel most proud of? Working full time and going to school full time while maintaining good grades
If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would buy my own house and help start an organization that would help reunite immigrant children with their families.
What cheers you up? Eating pizza with my boyfriend
What is your favorite book? Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Who is your hero? My heroes would have to be my parents because they immigrated from Mexico and came with nothing. However, they were able to build a life for their family in order to provide me and my siblings with better opportunities than what they had. They have taught me the value of hard work and to keep striving towards my goals.
Who would play you in the movie version of your life? Gina Rodriguez from the show Jane the Virgin
If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet? Selena Quintanilla, because I grew up listening to her music when I was younger.

As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? It means to keep pushing forward no matter what circumstances are put in front of you – because it is ultimately your effort and passion that will keep you going.
